Stethoscope Comparison Table

*Pairing hearing aids, cochlear implants, or bone-anchored hearing aids with a digital stethoscope can be tricky. "Bluetooth" isn't just one single technology; it encompasses various types, including universal Bluetooth and proprietary manufacturer streams, meaning compatibility depends heavily on the specific devices you use. For instance, the Eko CORE 500 digital stethoscope and the Stemoscope both utilize standard Bluetooth to connect directly via a smartphone app, which then routes the audio to your hearing devices. On the other hand, the Thinklabs One does not connect directly to hearing devices via Bluetooth; instead, it requires an intermediary streamer (such as a Cochlear Mini Microphone, Phonak Roger On, or similar manufacturer-specific remote mic) to bridge the audio gap.

There are several stethoscopes specifically designed for Deaf and hard-of-hearing healthcare professionals. This chart displays the specifications of the four most popular digital stethoscopes:

Many other brands offer amplified stethoscopes with conventional binaural tubing for those who may wish to remove their hearing aids or who have good residual low-frequency hearing.

It is also possible to configure a monaural stethoscope, which would transmit body sounds to one ear using a conventional earpiece or a custom ear mold. This is useful if one ear has good low-frequency hearing or if there is a preference to remove only one hearing device.
