In 2001, a focus group ad hoc committee was created to resolve issues regarding AMPHL representation of health care fields. After two years of intense discussion, a focus group statement was drafted for how AMPHL would represent and assist individuals with hearing loss in various healthcare fields. The health care fields listed below have submitted required materials and have been approved by the executive committee for AMPHL representation. Within each health care field link are guidelines developed specifically for individuals with hearing loss in that field. The guidelines include a discussion of obstacles encountered and solutions to overcoming them.
AMPHL Represented Professions:

To add your health care field and guidelines to the list, first contact the focus group chairperson Candie to see if there are others already working on an application. If so, the focus group chairperson will put you in touch with others already working on the application. If not, please read the Focus Group statement and fill out the Focus Group application and submit it for critque and approval. Approval is a two stage process. Initial approval is granted once the application is submitted and approved by the majority of AMPHL's Executive Committee. Final approval is granted once guidelines for the AMPHL website have been written, submitted, and accepted by majority vote of AMPHL's Executive Committee. NOTE: Submitting application does NOT guarantee acceptance.
