Tom is a Radiologist with subspecialty in Ultrasound and practices in Sewickley, Pa.(near Pittsburgh). He is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and Univ. of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He did his radiology residency and fellowship training at UPMC (Univ.of Pittsburgh Medical Center). He recently received a bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography via online with University of Arkansas Medical Sciences.
Tom has a profound bilateral sensorioneural hearing loss at age one from meningitis (prelingual deafness). He received speech therapy and was mainstreamed through local public schools. He became class valedictorian at Hopewell High School (Aliquippa, Pa). He has limited sign language ability.He wears BTE digital aids. Hobbies include Amateur Radio, Muzzleloader (Flintlock) and Venture Scouting.
Tom was named as one of America's Top Radiologists for 2003 by the Consumer' Research Council of America (Washington, D.C.). Because of his medical training, multiple ultrasound certifications, and authorship in peer-reviewed scientific journal (Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography), Tom received designation as an Advanced Practice Sonographyer (APS) in the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography - considered the "gold" standard within the Ultrasound profession.
